Location -the Hyams Beach Seaside Cottages are located at 53-55 Cyrus Street and are set amongst lovely gardens and trees. They are in the heart of Hyams Beach yet set back for privacy and seclusion. Cottage 1 is located nearest to the road, and Cottage 7 is located at the rear of the block. All are within easy walking distance of the beaches and cafe, and the whole complex has a lovely riverine setting, with views to the bay from every cottage.
Key features - the cottages are constructed from timber and originally date from the 1920's. They have been extensively refurbished and fully modernised, yet retain a lovely feel of yesteryear. Due to their size and configuration, they are suitable for couples or single travellers only.
Configuration - each cottage has a bathroom at is rear, a good sized bedroom with queen bed, and an interconnected living area, complete with small kitchenette, lounge, electric fireplace, and a table for two in a lovely bay window. A north facing deck adjoins the living area, from which you have views towards Jervis Bay andoverlook lovely riverine bush. You are also most likely to be visited by friendly rosellas and lorikeets!
Outdoors - each cottage is set within lovely landscaped gardens and at the rear of the site, there is a communal barbecue and outdoor seating area. The gas barbecue is supplied with oil, salt, pepper, vinegar and paper towels. The cottages are set along a lovely creek with natural bush, but all have views towards Jervis Bay even from cottage 7. Birds, rosellas, parrots and resident kangaroos are frequent visitors!
Heating and Cooling - each cottage is equipped with an electric fireplace that will keep you warm and cosy. In summer, you can make use of the ceiling fan, orthe front door, windows and French doors of the cottagecan be opened up tocatch any available breeze. All windows are fitted with fly screens.
Bathroom - Cottage 1 has ashower, vanity, and toilet configuration in its bathroom.
Linen and laundry - the Hyams Beach Seaside Cottages are supplied with linen and towels andvery comfortable beds! Please bring your own beach towels however. During your stay, you can also make use of a communal laundry with washing machine, dryer and iron / ironing board. A key code for the laundry is provided in your room information.
Provisions -each cottage has a small fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, electric frying pan, cutlery, crockery and glasses. No oven or stove top is provided. There is also a fire extinguisher, fire blanket, torch and battery operated lantern for use in emergencies.
Parking - the cottages share a parking area on the site, with each cottage entitled to the use of one space.
Pets - the cottages are not pet friendly. Please ask about our other pet friendly options.
Minimum stay -There is a minimum 2 night stay for all bookings, which changes to 3 nights on long weekends, 4 nights at Easter and 7 night blocks during peak season. Peak season runs from mid-December to the end of the Australia Day long weekend in January.
Internet / Wi-Fi access- please be aware that there is no ADSL in Hyams Beach and poor ADSL internet in most other areas of Jervis Bay. As a result, until the NBN is rolled out, none of our houses offers internet access. If a house has internet, you may use it but with no guarantee by us or the owner re its reliability. If you bring an internet dongle, the best network is generally Telstra. Otherwise guests go to various cafes in Huskisson, the Sanctuary Point Public Library or the St Georges Basin Country Club - all of which provide free Wi-Fi.
